WATCH: Why You Aren’t Seeing Karl Rove And Dick Morris On Fox News

The sallow faces of Karl Rove and Dick Morris appeared constantly on Fox News during the 2012 campaign. But since Karl Rove showed up on the channel to give his explanation of why Mitt Romney lost, he’s basically disappeared. The world’s worst political pundit, Dick Morris — whose impeccable record of being wrong was well established before 2012 — is also persona non grata on the GOP’s Pravda.

This isn’t an accident, but a directive from the top, according to New York Magazine‘s Gabriel Sherman.

Why? It could be shame, but it’s more likely that Fox News’ chief Roger Ailes is protecting the little credibility that remains at the nation’s most popular news channel. Months of convincing Republicans that Mitt Romney was going to win has been followed by the now infamous treatment of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Tom Ricks after his on-air critique of Fox, and a bombshell story from Bob Woodward that Ailes asked General David Petraeus to run for president as a Republican.

The Media Matters clip above shows that in a YouTube world, there is some accountability attached to constantly misinforming viewers. Unfortunately, Rove and Morris are just two of the worst culprits. Turn on Fox News right now and you’ll see why the channel’s viewers are nearly as uninformed as its hosts.
